The
narrative, maps and photos have been gleaned from a variety of sources
and we cannot vouch for their complete accuracy. We continue to research
available sources and will continue to update, and expand, the
subdivision information as it becomes available.
Many of
the accompanying photos are quite large and as a result could cause lengthy
download times, especially the satellite images of Hawaiian Ocean View
Estates and Hawaiian Ocean View Ranchos. You can view the larger images

Harbour (subdivision
map)
Discovery Harbour consists of over 800, fee simple lots, ranging in size
from 11,367 square feet to 22,839 square feet. It is one of the southern
most communities in the United States. Near the town of Naalehu and off
of Hawaii Belt Rd., SR11, it is located 60 miles south from Kona
International Airport, 30 miles from Volcanoes National Park, and
60 miles from the town of Hilo. Because of its location and
altitude (around 950 feet above sea level), the climate is mild with
temperatures ranging between 70 degrees in the winter to 86 degrees in
the summer. The trade winds beginning early afternoon keep the
temperature at a very comfortable level.
Many of the lots have extensive views of the ocean and the nearby
foothills. The development surrounds an 18 hole, Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed
golf course which currently is playable by residents only. Discussions
are underway with a potential buyer.
Infrastructure includes paved streets, street lights, county water,
power, telephone, cable TV and high-speed internet access. CC&R's
are enforced to preserve views and aesthetics of the development. It is
located in lava zone 6.
